Working in partnership 2019-08-05T11:33:27+01:00

We work in partnership with a range of healthcare providers throughout the UK to reach as many people as possible with our living well services.

We have been working in partnership with GenesisCare UK, a private healthcare company, since 2013. We deliver complementary treatment support for patients undergoing chemo and radiotherapy at several of their centres across the UK.

Following a holistic needs assessment, patients are offered relaxation and mindfulness sessions, reflexology, acupuncture, counselling, as well as signposting to local and national support organisations.

“We believe the Penny Brohn UK approach is shining a light on the future for how cancer care will be delivered to everyone. We are proud to be the first private provider to offer this as standard to all of our patients”

James McArthur, UK General Manager

macmillan_logoWe work in partnership with and are funded by Macmillan Cancer Support in the Staffordshire area. This partnership allows us to support people living with cancer at different stages of their cancer experience depending on their needs. We offer a choice of events and courses and the opportunity to receive ongoing support to live well with and beyond cancer. An important part of this work involves working alongside the local Cancer Nurse Specialists to develop and deliver Health and Wellbeing Events for their patients.

bhocWe have been working in partnership with the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre since 2013.  Through this partnership we have developed our Treatment Support Clinic and recently our Pre-Treatment Support Clinic which sees NHS Oncology staff working alongside our own team to offer an integrated approach to health and wellbeing.  Our Treatment Support Clinic has been recognised with a Runner-Up Prize by the College of Medicine 2013 Innovation in Self Care Awards.

Sunflowers is an independent charity, which works in partnership with Penny Brohn UK to deliver our Living Well Course to cancer patients, survivors and carers in Merseyside. Sunflowers’ in-house facilitators have been trained by the Penny Brohn Academy to deliver the Bristol Whole Life Approach.

You can find out more about this course, here. You can also find out about training with our Academy, here.

Penny Brohn UK works with Teenage Cancer Trust and the Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Service to promote and deliver the ‘Living Well with the Impact of Cancer’ course to supporters of young people with cancer in Bristol, Brighton and Exeter.

This is a free two-day course, which brings supporters together. Supporters may include parents, siblings (18+), partners or other loved ones who are supporting a young person with cancer.

It offers an opportunity for some time away to understand the impact on you and explore ways of improving your own health.

To find out more or book onto a course, call 0303 3000 118 or email helpline@pennybrohn.org.uk.

We have partnered with Simply Health since 2015 based on our shared passion for health and wellbeing. Simply Health donated £35k in 2015 towards our Treatment Support Clinic.  This enabled us to start the Teenage Cancer Trust project – providing Living Well courses for the parents/carers of teenagers and young adults with cancer.  In 2016, they gave us £95k to continue this work but also to fund our Follow-On services.

The Tim Tiley Bursary Fund awards travel bursaries for clients in need of financial support to get to the National Centre. If you are unable to get to the National Centre and would like to attend a course here, please contact us on 0303 3000 118 or email info@pennybrohn.org.uk to ask for details.
