Voluntary Trustee opportunities
Penny Brohn UK is a national charity that provides free support to everyone living with cancer, before, during and after treatment. In 2020, we celebrated 40 years as pioneers in the field of personalised and integrative cancer care and of supporting people with cancer to build their own emotional and physical resilience.
People with cancer are telling us that they need us more than ever and we have ambitious plans for the future to respond to this need. We are now looking for new Trustees to join our experienced Trustee Board as we move through this next stage of our development journey.
The role of Volunteer Trustee.
We are seeking new Trustees to become actively involved in the strategic direction, governance and decision making of the charity. As a Trustee you will join a dynamic team that is committed to making a difference to people affected by cancer. We have an experienced Chair who encourages a supportive environment in what will be a rewarding and satisfying role that also enables personal development and growth. New Trustees are fully supported through their induction into the organisation and will be expected to attend a minimum of four board meetings per year (full days), at least two or three shorter sub-committee meetings set throughout the year and an annual Trustee Away Day. Trustees will be offered reimbursement for any expenses.
All applications are welcome and the Charity is happy to hear from people across the country. In particular, we are interested to hear from anyone with experience in one of the following;
- The NHS, specifically oncology services
- Integrative health
- Commercial services
- Community health and promoting health equality
For an informal conversation ahead of making an application, please email Helen Wake, HR Advisor at Helen.wake@Pennybrohn.org.uk who will arrange for CEO, Julie Worrall to contact you.
