On Saturday, September 23 2017, we launched our first Stomp for Cancer event. The walk saw people of all ages and abilities head from Millennium Square at 10am, under Brunel’s iconic suspension bridge and along the Avon Gorge to our National Centre in Pill.
The six-mile stomp was held to mark the 10th anniversary of royal patron, HRH The Prince of Wales officially opening our Centre, formerly Ham Green House and a group trekked a similar path to celebrate.
The following year – in 2018 – the date of the event was changed to mark the charity’s birthday on 13th October and it underwent a branding overhaul. The event saw hundreds of people turning Bristol purple in their Stomp t-shirts and is now a successful yearly event.
