9.00am – 1.30pm Mondays, weekly at our National Centre
This clinic is designed to help anyone who is preparing for, undergoing or recovering from chemo or radio therapy.
For many people, the treatment process can be a particularly difficult and challenging time. Dealing with side effects and fatigue along with the emotional impact of treatment can be a lot to manage alone.
We’ve teamed up with the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre to offer a weekly support clinic. It’s run by a Penny Brohn doctor and a chemotherapy nurse, offering advice and guidance on many different ways to manage the side effects of your treatment. Oncology Consultants and Complementary Therapists are also regular visitors, able to share tips on how you can get the most from your treatment.
There’s a chance to share experiences and find support through guided relaxation, nutritional advice to make mealtimes easier – we even offer acupuncture *
In addition, you’ll have a chance to try out a variety of gentle exercises. We make sure we include different kinds of physical activity so you can discover what really works for you.
All activities are carefully designed so that everyone can join in – even if you’re not feeling well on the day – and you don’t have to come every week if you don’t feel up to it.
You can bring a friend, family member or carer with you. Lunch can be booked on the day.
