Quality Sweet Treats
Some quick and simple ideas for nutritious alternatives to those big tins of refined sugar and fats
Instructions
- Succulent Medjool dates stuffed with half a walnut, whole almond or square of dark chocolate.
- Strips of unsweetened dried mango and halves of unsulphured apricots, half dipped in melted 70% + dark chocolate and set in the fridge. Dried figs are also lovely for this.
- Classic dark chocolate coated Brazil and/or toasted hazel nuts, so easy to make your own.
- Chocolate bark - melt a bar of 70%+ dark chocolate in a bowl over hot water. Leave to sit for 5 minutes and then pour onto parchment to form a thin puddle. Sprinkle with your favourite toppings – I usually choose 3 or 4 of: chopped nuts, shredded coconut, crystalised ginger, dried orange and lemon peel, gogi berries, dried mulberries, sour cherries, toasted hazelnuts, cacao nibs .... all with a pinch of rough sea salt!
