Leading cancer charity, Penny Brohn UK, is calling for volunteers to join its team at this year’s MoonWalk London on Saturday 16 May.
Every year Penny Brohn UK supports MoonWalk organisers, breast cancer charity Walk the Walk, with a huge team of volunteers. Walk the Walk’s support and funding has been intrinsic to Penny Brohn UK’s ability to innovate new ways of supporting people living with cancer.
Volunteers will be helping out at the colourful event on Clapham Common between 6pm and midnight; applying temporary tattoos, selling WalkWear merchandise and carrying out administrative tasks.
Volunteers living in London can meet the team at the event; whilst volunteers from Bristol and North Somerset will be provided with transport on a coach. Snacks and drinks will be available at the event.
Sarah Gottesman, Volunteer Manager at Penny Brohn UK said: “Volunteering at The MoonWalk is a wonderful experience – from the atmosphere, the friendliness, the fun, to the amazing bras and the sheer size of the tent! We’d love you and your friends and family to join our volunteering team – the more the merrier!”
With 40 years’ experience, Penny Brohn UK recognises that people with cancer need more than medicine. Its whole person approach offers personalised care from the point of a cancer diagnosis into treatment and throughout survivorship. Exploring areas like diet, exercise, emotions, relationships and managing stress, our free courses, one-to-one therapies, and group sessions, work alongside standard medical treatment to achieve the best health and wellbeing by supporting the holistic needs – psychological, emotional, spiritual and physical – of people affected by cancer.
