This weekend Alice Holwell took on her own virtual 10K race to raise funds for Penny Brohn UK, whilst her dedicated grandma walked laps of her own home, raising an incredible £1600!
Alice’s grandma, a client of Penny Brohn UK, donned a colourful wig and walked out of her front door down her road and through her back garden repeatedly until Alice came to a final halt, completing her 10K route.
Alice said: “I’m so happy with how it went. And my grandma did such an amazing job, she managed about 2km with all her walking. We’re up to about £1600 in donations and could not be happier! I completed the run in 57mins and my mum had asked all my neighbours to come out and see me off and back again, so it was honestly such a lovely day!
“I’m so happy that I have been able to do something to help raise awareness for such an amazing charity, particularly at such a difficult time. Grandma’s looking forward to getting back to visiting Penny Brohn.”
