Hayley Swift has recently joined Penny Brohn as Client Activities Coordinator. Hear from her about the role and how she can help with your queries.

There are so many interesting things happening here at Penny Brohn and my role as Client Activities Coordinator is to plan and develop activities here at the national centre. I have had a lovely first month at Penny Brohn, meeting with as many of the groups as possible, I’ve tried my hand at Nordic Walking,  spent a relaxing afternoon with the Open studio group, and remembered how uplifting it feels to sing with the Penny Brohn Choir. It has been a joy to hear all the positive feedback from people at the groups, last week I spoke to a lady who told me that joining the choir was the best decision she ever made.

Spending time with the groups (and the talented, hard working volunteers that support them) has been inspiring, I am excited about supporting our existing groups to thrive as well as exploring opportunities for new workshops and regular activities.

My background is in Public Health and Community Development and I worked as a Health Promotion Practitioner for 10 year. I feel very lucky to have worked with and alongside people across Bristol to develop wellbeing services using a community development approach. I look forward to bringing this away of working across to my new role.
