Working together, to help people live well with cancer

.

Every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer. By 2020, almost 50% of people living in the UK will have received a diagnosis of cancer. That means half of your employees and half of your customers will know what it means to be told, ‘you have cancer’.

However, the challenge many people face is not dying from the disease, but living well. While the NHS does incredible work in treating cancer, our expertise is vital in helping people understand what it is to live as well and as long as possible.

To keep our services free to the thousands of men and women who we help right now, we need to raise over £2.5 million every year. And we can’t do it alone.

Our Corporate Business Development Manager: Phoebe Hunt

.

There are several rewarding ways you can help us achieve our vision to bring enrichment to every life affected by cancer…

Come and experience our unique approach to living well. Book a meeting with the team at our National Centre just outside Bristol. Call or email Phoebe on 01275 370 114.

We work in partnership with companies across a range of industries, delivering clear business benefits and raising essential funds in the process.

Our corporate team know how to develop tailor-made partnerships which are right for your company. We’ll work with you to motivate your employees, engage your customers and increase your brand awareness. Whether you’re interested in a long-term partnership or a one-off challenge, your organisation could make a big difference to the people needing our services.

With your very own dedicated account manager we’ll support you to the full, striving to ensure our partnership is a successful one which will bring you – as well as us – real benefit.

“We greatly admire Penny Brohn UK’s Bristol Whole Life Approach and the emphasis on good nutrition, self-care and mindfulness. With the help of chef and nutrition expert Lou Marchionne, we have created a special dish, and will be donating £1 of the sale price of each dish sold, to Penny Brohn.”

“We have found Penny Brohn UK to be committed partners. Their highly engaged and motivated team work immensely hard for the charity, running high-quality and well-organised events and maintaining strong relationships with their supporters.  We find their commitment inspiring and hope in turn, they find us passionate and engaged supporters with shared values.”

The Penny Brohn UK National Centre is an idyllic location from which to gain some perspective. It’s the perfect place to gather with colleagues to have some fun and to make a difference to people whose lives have been affected by cancer.

Why not volunteer with us? Find out how you and your colleagues could be investing some of your time with the gardening team. Or perhaps something indoors at our National Centre? Your time and effort will mean we can reduce expenditure and invest even more in our services.

And of course, volunteering will give you the opportunity to tap into the Penny Brohn ethos – learn some stress-management techniques and mindfulness, or improve your health and nutrition.

“Our team were delighted to spend a day decorating one of the treatment rooms at Penny Brohn UK. The team at Penny Brohn could not have been more accommodating. We gathered at 9:30am and a member of the team was there to provide us with a warm welcome along with tea and coffee.

Work started not long after and we managed to get the first coat completed before lunch. We then sampled some of the delicious food, prepared in accordance with the Penny Brohn principles, in their restaurant.  After our break it was back to the task in hand and the second coat.

The day was rounded off with a very interesting tour of the centre, in which the team provided an explanation on the history and ethos of the charity and helped us understand how the freshly decorated treatment room is going to create a warmer environment for the people supported by the charity. All in all, with the way we were looked after and in the knowledge that we were making a small but positive contribution to this wonderful charity. It was a truly special day.”

Corporate fundraising is a great opportunity to let your imagination run wild! Get together with colleagues and do something inspiring or challenging on the tarmac, off the beaten track, or in the kitchen. Anything you do – any amount you raise – will make a difference. Once you have started promoting your event, send us the details and we will promote this on our website events calendar.

Penny Brohn offers adaptable sponsorships to suit your chosen audience. We have a portfolio of project ideas to benefit your business. Whether it’s cause-related marketing projects or a gift in kind, we’d love to work with you.

“We proudly sponsored Bungee the Boss, not only providing financial support to organise the event, but we actively got involved with three of our team jumping. Supporting Penny Brohn has fostered a sense of togetherness within our team, giving our employees a chance to give back to their community, whilst helping instill pride in our organisation, which we hope will lead to increased loyalty and retention.”

Payroll Giving is the most tax-efficient way to donate to charity, allowing you to help people living with cancer every time you’re paid.

For example, a £10-a-month donation would only cost you £8. This is because Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax, so we receive more money at no extra cost to you.

This provides us with a steady source of income. Knowing that we will receive your gift can make all the difference, as it means that we can plan ahead more effectively to help more people with our life-changing services.

Set up a Payroll Gift today by contacting Phoebe Hunt, phoebe.hunt@pennybrohn.org.uk

What if I change jobs or retire?

If you change jobs, you can continue to give through your pay as long as your new employer is registered with a Payroll Giving Agency (PGA). Alternatively, or if you retire, you can set up a Direct Debit to continue the gift here. Your continued support will make a huge difference to someone affected by cancer.
