The surprise for us today was a visiting swarm of bees looking for a new home. They had settled on a small conifer tree in front of our own hives. At first we thought they were from one of our hives, and had decided to split up and form another colony but our bee keeper arrived and identified them as new to our garden; he soon moved them into a spare hive and we hope they will be happy with us
Elsewhere lots of new flowers to see – aquilegia, geraniums, iris and many more – the garden is shaping up well for NGS Open Day on Sunday June 21st – please spread the word – plants for sale , tea and cakes and an introduction to the Centre as well as so much to see in the garden.
