Healthy Cooking Demonstrations (suggested donation £5)
Our popular Healthy Cooking Demonstrations will inspire and motivate you to try out new recipes using healthy, every day ingredients. Each month we offer two or more 90 minute classes, with a range of themes including: simple meals, eating well on a budget, sensational soups and nourishing treats. At each demonstration Victoria will take you step by step through each recipe, sharing her amazing knowledge and food wisdom, along with helpful tips and ideas. Of course everyone gets to taste together at the end and take recipes home with them.
Healthy Cooking Courses (suggested donation £10)
These one day courses are for those looking for more detailed support with putting Penny Brohn’s healthy eating principles into practice:
Introduction to Healthy Cooking: A fun and informative introduction to the principles and practice of cooking deliciously healthy meals and snacks. Includes a step by step demonstration of some easy and delicious dishes.
Foods to Lift the Spirits: A thought provoking workshop that explores the relationship between what and how we eat, and the way we feel. Includes practical tips and delicious recipe ideas.
Cook-Along Classes (suggested donation £10)
Our new small group cook-along classes are a relaxed, hands-on opportunity to learn and practice some simple cooking skills. Intended for those with limited experience of preparing healthy meals for themselves or a loved one, each person will create 3 delicious dishes to take home and enjoy
Eat Well Masterclasses (suggested donation £10)
Our new masterclasses take a more in-depth look at different aspects of a health supportive diet for people living with cancer. Each course combines research and information with practical tips and a ‘how to’ food demonstration. Topics for 2020 include:
Eating Well to Balance Blood Sugar: Keeping blood sugar in check is important for many aspects of health and may play a supportive role in an anti-cancer diet. This masterclass looks at foods and eating patterns to support blood sugar balance, and share tips and tasty recipes to make it easy
Eating Well with an Anti-inflammatory Diet: An anti-inflammatory diet is often mentioned in relation to cancer but it isn’t always clear what this really means. This masterclass looks at foods and nutrients that can influence inflammation in the body, and how to develop a sustainable and enjoyable anti-inflammatory diet.
Eating Well to Support the Immune System: In this masterclass we learn more about the immune system, and the foods and nutrients that can help to support good immune health, with tips and tasty recipes to help incorporate them into your diet
Eating Well for Good Gut Health: This new masterclass will take an in-depth look at the importance of good gut health and some of the factors than can affect this. We will explore how different foods and dietary habits can influence digestive health and support a healthy microbiome, and share some tips and recipes.
Personal Nutrition Consultations
These consultations offer an opportunity to discuss your own particular situation and needs with an experienced nutritional therapist. We can provide individualised guidance to help you make healthful dietary changes that work for you, as well as support to manage any side effects of your cancer or cancer treatment.
