Join us as we explore North India, through the foothills of the Himalayas on one of the best charity treks out there. Our charity challenge begins in Dharamsala, where the Dalai Lama and the centre of the Tibetan Community are situated, before we set off on foot to explore this stunning region.

Why should I do it?
Our 5 day trek for charity takes us through the Kingdom of Gaddi – a semi nomadic race who spend months wandering the high passes with their cattle. With spectacular views of the Daula Dhar Mountain Range, this gem of a challenge takes us through rhododendron forests, passing through Hindu settlements and Buddhist Monasteries. To end we have some free time to explore the incomparable Taj Mahal – one of the world’s greatest monuments to love ever built, and one of the new Seven Wonders of the World!

By taking part in the Dalai Lama Trek for Penny Brohn UK, not only will you be taking on a huge personal challenge that many people only dream of achieving, but with every step you take you will be helping us support more people with cancer.

What do I need to know?
We are delighted to once again be working alongside Global Adventure Challenges who have over ten years experience in organising such trips, they have helped thousands of people reach their goals and life-long ambitions. Every Expedition Leader is highly experienced and well trained to provide everyone with the most enjoyable trip possible.

How much do I need to pay or fundraise?
You will be required to pay a non refundable registration fee of £349 at the time of booking and then an airport Tax and fuel surcharge contribution of £250 nearer the time. After this there are two payment options:

Minimum Sponsorship (Option A) – with this option you fundraise a minimum amount of £2,840 sponsorship for Penny Brohn UK out of which we pay your challenge costs (£1,370).

Self Funded (Option B) – you personally cover the full costs of the challenge out of your own pocket which is £1,420 and then fundraise as much as you can; all of which comes to the charity.

On the trek you will be provided with a Global Adventure Challenges Leader, professional local English speaking guides, accommodation, drinking water, all meals, a UK doctor to travel with the group, your return flights and all accommodation. Check out the itinerary for more details of what is and is not included.

“I loved every second of this trek and doing it for such an incredible charity and one that’s so close to my heart made all the hard times so worthwhile. The views were amazing and our guides fantastic…I’d go again tomorrow if my legs weren’t still aching!”.
