More than Medicine Conference

>>More than Medicine Conference

Leading health care professionals, academics, complementary therapists and people living with cancer will be joining together at this year’s More than Medicine Conference to explore integrative approaches to cancer care: how a whole person approach can be used alongside standard medical treatment to improve outcomes.

The conference on 15 November is being hosted by Penny Brohn UK which recognises that people affected by cancer need more than medicine to live well.

Headline speakers include Dr Robert Thomas (Oncologist and Professor at Cambridge University Hospitals), Dr Penny Kechagioglou (Chief Medical Officer at GenesisCare) and Sir Sam Everington (GP and part of the Bromley by Bow GP partnership supporting wider determinants of health). They will be joined by three speakers with a passion for helping others by sharing their own experience of living with cancer including: Sophie Sabbage (Speaker and Author of The Cancer Whisperer), Kris Hallenga (Founder of Coppafeel) and Sophie Trew (Founder of Trew Fields Festival).

With key note speakers, panel discussions and interactive breakout sessions the conference is designed to help healthcare professionals and complementary therapists unite and discuss how more than medicine can help people with cancer live as well as possible for as long as possible. By using lifestyle medicine, psychological support and complementary therapies alongside standard medical treatment people affected by cancer can be empowered to reclaim control of their health and rediscover the joy of living.

Tickets cost £60 include the full programme, a choice of two breakout sessions, refreshments and a nutritious lunch. Find out more.
