New Living Well courses for supporters of teenage adults

>>New Living Well courses for supporters of teenage adults

Working with the Teenage Cancer Trust over the last three years, we’ve developed these pilot courses specifically for carers, to give them them the opportunity to meet others in a similar position and share experiences.

Often we overlook the physical and mental health of supporters while they focus on their loved ones. And the aim of this course is to provide the Bristol Whole Life Approach for supporters, so that they can meet others in a similar position. Sharing experiences can really help to reduce the feeling of isolation.

We’ve had some great feedback so far, which encourages us to offer more courses like this in future.

  • 100% of the TYA cancer patients themselves felt the Living Well course had helped their supporters, and 100% said they felt the course had helped them in turn.

One Living Well Supporter that attended the course said:

“It’s hard to prioritise your own needs when you are so concerned about someone else. But I am glad I went. I feel more able to deal with things now”.

We are pleased to confirm that we will be running 3 more courses this year:

  • Exeter – 29th and 30th September
  • Brighton – October (dates to be confirmed)
  • National Centre Bristol – November (dates to be confirmed)
