We are thrilled to receive a £41,000 “early Christmas present” from The Prince of Wales’ Charitable Foundation to develop our nutritional programme to reach around 3,000 people in 2018.

The princely sum will cover 450 nutritional therapy appointments, 36 healthy cooking demos, six healthy cooking day workshops, three short retreats and our new 7-day Recipe Plan.

The new, 44-page Recipe Plan, based on our Healthy Eating Guidelines, is packed with inspirational breakfasts, lunches, dinners, snacks, desserts and dressings. It is available free on the charity’s one-day nutrition course and retreats, or to buy for £5.95.

All aspects will help people facing cancer learn how good nutrition and small lifestyle changes can improve health and wellbeing, and reduce the impact of treatment.

“It’s like an early Christmas present – we’re thrilled to have our application accepted and thank The Prince of Wales’ Foundation deeply. We rely on kind people and organisations like the Foundation to continue our free services to empower people to thrive in their time of need.” – our trusts fundraiser Helen Sanderson.

This year marks The Prince’s 20th anniversary as a Penny Brohn patron. HRH enjoyed one of Penny Brohn’s cooking demos and met clients and their families when he visited our National Centre in 2016.

“The Prince of Wales saw some of the excellent work done by Penny Brohn during his visit. Through his Foundation, we hope more will benefit from the charity’s efforts to promote the importance of diet and nutrition, and to help make life with cancer that little bit easier for people.” – A Foundation spokesperson.
