We are delighted to introduce Leah Morris as one of our shared research bursary winners for our conference ‘Living Well 2017 – Realising the Value in Self-Management care’. Leah told us “Self-management is a vital principle of physiotherapy, as physiotherapists try to engage patients to be active members in their own health. This can be challenging, and the conference may highlight to me strategies of overcoming these barriers”
Our second winner is Nicky Harris, a pediatrician/researcher undertaking a PhD to explore how patient-generated outcome measures influence the provision of evidence based practice for children with palliative care needs. She told us “I have been exploring the methodological complexities of evaluating our intervention, and would be keen to learn more about the Realising the Value project. I’ve been impressed by the success of evaluation processes in Penny Brohn and the impact this has had on policy development for the NHS and social care more widely, and hope to learn from your experiences. ”
